solidaryzuje się ze strajkiem scenarzystów WGA

Stowarzyszenie Filmowców Polskich wyraża swoje zdecydowane poparcie dla strajku scenarzystów zrzeszonych w Amerykańskim Stowarzyszeniu Pisarzy (WGAW - Writers Guild of America West i WGAE - Writers Guild of America, East), a także dla stanowiska Federacji Scenarzystów Europejskich (FSE) w tej sprawie.

Stowarzyszenie Filmowców Polskich, które jest najstarszą i najliczniejszą organizacją zrzeszającą filmowców w Polsce, nie może pozostać obojętne wobec tak jawnej niesprawiedliwości, z jaką muszą mierzyć się strajkujący obecnie scenarzyści. Choć zdajemy sobie sprawę, że problemy twórców w różnych krajach mogą się różnić, w pełni rozumiemy wszystkie wysunięte przez WGA postulaty. Istotą sporu jest bowiem kwestia elementarna, rozumiana na całym świecie tak samo: praca scenarzystów, stanowiąca ważną część przemysłu filmowego i telewizyjnego, powinna być uczciwie wynagradzana, a ich prawa należycie chronione, zwłaszcza podczas eksploatacji internetowej. Jako polscy filmowcy szczególnie rozumiemy i wspieramy potrzebę uregulowania standardów współpracy z serwisami streamingowymi. Cyfrowe korporacje, również w naszym kraju, nie chcą dzielić się swoim gigantycznym zyskiem z ludźmi, dzięki którym w ogóle mogą funkcjonować – zarówno scenarzystami, jak i wszystkimi innymi twórcami filmowymi. Wierzymy, że nadszedł czas, aby to zmienić.

Popieramy starania WGA o wypracowanie nowej umowy zbiorowej wraz z podniesieniem jakości warunków pracy, a także o uregulowanie sposobów korzystania ze sztucznej inteligencji w ich twórczej pracy oraz podwyżkę płac minimalnych i tantiem (residuals) z eksploatacji internetowej, które sprawiedliwie oddadzą wartość wkładu scenarzysty w sukces produkcji oraz zysk wytwórni i serwisów streamingowych.

stands in solidarity with the WGA screenwriters' strike

The Polish Filmmakers Association expresses its strong support for the strike of screenwriters affiliated with the Writers Guild of America (WGAW - Writers Guild of America West and WGAE - Writers Guild of America, East), as well as for the position of the Federation of European Screenwriters (FSE) on this issue.

The Polish Filmmakers Association, which is the oldest and the largest filmmakers organisation in Poland, cannot remain indifferent to such a blatant injustice faced by the screenwriters currently on strike. Although we realise that the problems of filmmakers may differ in different countries, we fully understand all the demands putting forward by the WGA. For the essence of the dispute is an elementary issue, understood the same all over the world: the work of screenwriters, which is an important part of the film and television industry, should be fairly remunerated and their rights duly protected, especially during online exploitation. As Polish filmmakers, we particularly understand and support the need to regulate the standards of cooperation with streaming services. Digital corporations also in our country do not want to share their gigantic profits with the people thanks to whom they can function at all - both screenwriters and all other filmmakers. We believe that the time has come to change this.

We support the WGA's efforts to forge a new collective agreement with an increase in the quality of working conditions, as well as to regulate the use of artificial intelligence in their creative work, and to raise minimum wages and royalties (residuals) from online exploitation that fairly reflect the value of the screenwriter's contribution to the success of the production and the profit of the studios and streaming services.
