Best Books on Film

Dear Colleagues and Editors,

Hereby we present you our special service called: “The Best Books on Film"!

The booklets are mostly addressed to book editors from all over the world.

Editors: PhD J. Płażewski, PhD A. Fogler
FIPRESCI: Klaus Eder, General Secretary

The recomended books have been impartially selected by film experts and critics representing national sections of FIPRESCI. In general, we recommend 25 books in our first bulletin (2008), 43 books in the second one (2009) and now you have 44 books this year(2010). All together 112 carefully selected books so far! The books suggested by national sections of FIPRESCI reach a wide range of readers from Iceland to New Zealand. According to the resolution accepted by the FIPRESCI General Assembly in St. Vincent, the boards of national sections were obliged to translate "Best Books" booklets into their local languages.
Surely each film book editor can find at least a few books which after being translated and published become a success. All they can do is get in touch with the first publishing house, obtain a copy and sign a contract.

We do hope, that the results of our work will be helpfull for suitable publishing houses all over the world.

We are going to continue our project - we collect information for “The Best Books on Film" No.4.
